When the water is already there — a lake, a reservoir, a wide river edge — the fountain goes to the water. A floating fountain carries the complete show system on a platform: no basin to build, and a performance read from the whole shoreline.
A floating fountain mounts the pumps, nozzles, lighting and control on a floating platform anchored on open water. It suits the sites basins cannot: resort lakes, municipal reservoirs, wide ponds and waterfronts where the water body is the attraction and construction in it is limited. The show itself is the standard Aqualume choreography — the same effect library and programmed control as a basin musical fountain, engineered for a moving, floating base.

Open water is a working environment, not a stage floor. The floating structure has to hold the show geometry steady against wind and wave movement, keep electrical systems safe in constant humidity and spray, and use materials matched to the water chemistry — the listed SS304/SS316 split between fresh water and seawater exists because corrosion, not choreography, is what ends floating installations early.
Anchoring, water-level variation and service access are settled in the design stage: how the platform is moored, how technicians reach it, and how the show reads from the shoreline viewpoints your audience actually uses. A floating show is watched from a distance, so feature scale and lighting are planned for the far bank, not the water's edge.

Yes — the platform carries the same class of nozzles, lighting and programmed control as a basin system. The floating musical fountain page carries the listed specification.
It decides the material. The listed specification uses SS304 stainless steel for fresh water and SS316 for seawater; state your water type when you request a quotation.
Service access and mooring are part of the design scope. The platform is planned so routine checks can be done from a small boat or by hauling to the shore point agreed in design.
